EU to mount military operation to help Haiti

The European Union says it will mount a military operation to bring shelter to Haiti before the rainy seasons starts in the Caribbean.

Catherine Ashton, the EU foreign affairs chief, was to announce details later Thursday. An Ashton aide told The Associated Press the mission will involve bringing tents and other temporary housing to Haiti. (AP)
