Decision on border fence on Egypt delayed

None

The cabinet will not discuss on Sunday putting up a fence along the Egyptian border that would cost about NIS 1.35 billion (about $36 million). This is because Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Director-General of the Defense Ministry Ehud Shani were absent from the cabinet meeting.

There is a disagreement between the Defense Ministry and the Finance Ministry regarding budget for the project. The Defense Ministry demanded that "an extensive discussion of the budget and schedule for erecting the fence be held." (Roni Sofer)
