The Lebanese defense establishment recently arrested a Lebanese military officer with a rank equivalent to lieutenant colonel on suspicions that he passed information to Israel – including photographs and coordinates – which helped it attack targets during the Second Lebanon War.
A number of Arab media outlets reported that the officer, Rezvan Shaheen, was brought before a judge on Monday and charged with "collaborating with Israeli intelligence and passing on confidential information – offenses that can be punishable by death." This is the fifth senior official that has been arrested since April 2009. (Roee Nahmias)
