5 Danes suspected of threating anti-immigration lawmaker

None

Danish police briefly detained five men Thursday on suspicion of making death threats against a nationalist leader known for her outspoken opposition to immigration, particularly from Muslim countries.

Police spokesman Joergen Aabye said four of the men were released after questioning but were still facing preliminary charges of threatening Pia Kjaersgaard, who heads the anti-immigration Danish People's Party. A fifth suspect remained in custody for suspicions of forgery in an unrelated case. (AP)
