A 16-year-old Palestinian boy was detained Thursday at the GIlboa crossing at the northern entrance to Jenin, after a routine search uncovered two improvised pipe bombs in his possession.

Nobody was hurt in the incident and the bombs were neutralized by police sappers. The teenager was taken in for interrogation.

After initially screening the youngster, security guards at the roadblock became suspicious and proceed to perform a thorough search, which uncovered the pipe bombs.

The guards immediately sealed off the area and removed other civilians from the site.

On Wednesday, a Border Guard force uncovered four pipe bombs hidden in the possessions of a Palestinian teen in the same area. The teen was detained at a roadblock near Jenin.

In that incident too, police sappers were called in to detonate the explosives. No injuries were reported at the site.
