Some 1,200 Palestinians, left-wing activists and foreigners are holding a demonstration in the West Bank village of Bilin west of Ramallah, marking five years to the protests against the security fence at the site. The protestors hurled stones and even tore down part of the fence.
The Palestinians have reported Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad and the Geneva mayor are taking part in the protest. Security forces are stationed at some distance from the scene allowing the protest to take place. (Efrat Weiss and Ali Waked)
