Herzog: Israel cannot lose public broadcasting service

Social Affairs Minister Isaac Herzog, who was in charge of the Israel Broadcasting Authority in the past, says the government must work to solve the crisis in the IBA.
"The State of Israel cannot stay without public broadcasting. Having the public discourse in Israel controlled exclusively by commercial media based on ratings means that the body supervising and criticizing the government's actions will be dramatically weakened," Herzog said ahead of the cabinet meeting.
