Pakistan: Blast reported in main town in Swat valley

An explosion went off in a market area in the main town in Pakistan's Swat valley on Monday but there was no immediate word on its cause or of any casualties, security officials said.

The military launched a big offensive against Pakistani Taliban militants in Swat, a former tourist valley northwest of Islamabad, in April last year and largely cleared the Islamist fighters out after months of clashes. (Reuters)
