Barak leaves for US visit to meet Clinton, defense secretary

Defense Minister Ehud Barak has departed for New York and Washington, where he is scheduled to meet with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Secretary of Defense Robert Gates as well as the chairman of the US Army's Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen, and the US special envoy to the Middle East, George Mitchell.
Barak also plans to meet with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. (Roni Sofer)
