A spokesman for the Lutheran Church of Germany says its leader, Margot Kaessmann, was caught driving drunk in a company car by police in Hannover.
Spokesman Reinhard Mawick told the German news agency DAPD on Tuesday that Kaessmann was stopped after she ignored a red traffic light in downtown Hannover on Saturday night. Kaessmann told daily Bild, "I'm shocked at myself that I committed such a grave mistake." (AP)
