Welfare and Social Services Minister Isaac Herzog (Labor) said that the strident voices heard since the government's announcement to include the Cave of the Patriarchs on the heritage site list are just a "masked ball of all the political figures involved in the issue."
"This was simply an idea raised among the site preservation staff, and is not a policy decision," Herzog said before a government meeting. (Roni Sofer)
