UN debating new resolution on Goldstone report

The UN General Assembly has convened in order to vote on a new resolution proposed by the Arab League, which calls on Israel and the Palestinians to launch private investigations into the conclusions of the Goldstone report on the Gaza war.
The resolution is expected to be widely approved. Israel's ambassador to the UN, Gabriela Shalev, plans to tell the assembly that as always, Israel launched an investigation after Operation Cast Lead which is reliable and meets international standards. (Yitzhak Benhorin, Washington)
