Foreign Ministry: Israel stands by Chilean government
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement expressing solidarity with the residents of Chile following the huge earthquake felt in the country on Saturday morning.
"Israel stands by the Chilean government and people and wishes to send its condolences to the victims' families and offer its support to the residents at this trying time," the statement read. Israel's ambassador to Santiago is in contact with the local authorities and is being briefed at the current state of affairs. (Roni Sofer)
