The Foreign Ministry reported that there are no Israelis on the list of people killed or injured following the strong earthquake that rocked Chile on Saturday. However, some 20 Israelis known to be in the South American country have yet to contact the Israeli embassy there.
Foreign Ministry spokesman, Yigal Palmor said, "The embassy has reviewed the names of those killed and injured in the disaster in Chile, and there are no Israelis among them." Palmor stressed that the list was not final, and that efforts were being made to contact the Israelis in the region. (Ronen Medzini)
