US official: Obama to reduce number of nukes

US President Barack Obama is developing a nuclear defense strategy that will include a "drastic reduction" in the number of nuclear weapons the United States, announced a senior member of his administration.
This strategy, consistent with the will of Obama to fight nuclear proliferation, "will dramatically reduce inventory (nuclear weapons), while maintaining a strong deterrent," said the official on condition of anonymity. (AFP)
