PM: We will release prisoners in order to release Shalit
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel notified the German mediator between Hamas and Israel that "we are willing to release prisoners in order to bring Gilad home safe and sound," but noted that until now, no response has been received from Hamas.
During a discussion in the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Netanyahu said, however, "They will be released in order to bring back Gilad, but not to places from which it will be easy to embark on murders." (Amnon Meranda)
