A Jordanian military court on Tuesday sentenced three Jordanian citizens to 15 years in prison after they were convicted of founding a terrorist cell and planning to infiltrate into the Gaza Strip in 2009 in order to carry out attacks against Israel.
Two other Jordanians were sentenced to five years in prison each.
Legal sources in the Hashemite Kingdom said that another defendant who was convicted in absentia was sentenced to life in prison and hard labor.
"After Operation Cast Lead the cell decided to buy weapons and infiltrate into the Gaza Strip in order to carry out attacks on Israel," one source said.
The five prisoners were arrested last year in Jordan before getting a chance to carry out their plans.
