Approved: Doctors to require basic Hebrew for license to practice
The Knesset approved a bill proposal, according to which a doctor will have to have at least a basic level of Hebrew in order to receive a license to practice in Israel.
MK Arieh Eldad (National Union), who initiated the proposal, said "This is a law that protects patients, ensures basic communication between the patient and the doctor, and ensures that the doctor can read the patient's file to know the patient's medical history." (Meital Yasur-Beit Or)
