Hebrew University protests chief scientist's anti-evolution remarks
The management of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem has announced that it will stop classes for five minutes in protest against remarks made by the chief scientist at the Education Ministry, Dr. Gabi Avital, who rejected the theory of evolution.
"As a scientific institution we feel obligated to respond to these remarks, which belittle the scientific method in general," University President Menahem Ben-Sasson wrote in a letter to be read during the short hiatus. (Yaheli Moran Zelikovitch)
