US ambassador to UN: Iran nuclear fears even greater
U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations Susan E. Rice said during a Security Council discussion that diplomatic efforts regarding Iran's nuclear program are not yielding results.
Since the last Security Council meeting, she said, the Iranian nuclear threat had got worse. She pointed out that four years had passed since the first Security Council Resolution regarding sanctions, yet Iran continues to advance its nuclear program. She also called on the Security Council to penalize Iran for violating the current sanctions regime. (Yitzhak Benhorin, Washington)
