UN official: Palestinians losing faith in talks
The UN humanitarian chief, John Holmes, warned that daily conditions in Palestinian areas could compromise peace talks before they begin.
Holmes said Israeli policies were souring Palestinians' attitude toward the peace process. He said Palestinians regarded "the forthcoming negotiations with a good deal of cynicism." Holmes added that the Gaza blockade and Israeli settlement construction in the West Bank "is going to make those negotiations more difficult but at the same time, all the more urgent." (AP)
