Armenia hails US house panel vote on 'genocide'
Armenia said a US congressional panel vote on Thursday labelling as "genocide" the World War One mass killings of Armenians by Ottoman Turks was a boost for human rights. "We highly appreciate the decision," Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian told Reuters.
"This is further proof of the devotion of the American people to universal human values and is an important step towards the prevention of crimes against humanity," he said. (Reuters)
