Russia, Ukraine pledge to end poor relations

The presidents of Russia and Ukraine pledged Friday to move past the bad relations that existed under Ukraine's pro-Western leadership of the past five years.
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, making his first trip to Moscow since being sworn in last week, met with his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev in hopes of getting Russia to cut gas prices for his country. "I hope the black streak in our relations will be over after your arrival and the beginning of your work in office," Medvedev told Yanukovych at the start of their meeting in the Kremlin. (AP)
