Israeli tourist Itai Ben-David, who went missing in Brazil's Isla Grande area on Wednesday, was found in good health Saturday evening.
On Thursday the Phoenix insurance company sent a team of five to search Ben-David.
Eyal Magnus, director of Magnus International Search & Rescue Ltd, told Ynet that the search team had estimated that Ben-David would be located quickly. "The island is small and chances are that whoever gets lost on it will find his or her way back," he said.
According to Magnus, the search team made use of dogs and a helicopter, as well as local rescuers.
Ben-David, Magnus said, eventually returned to the village from which he departed on what was supposed to be a short hike.
"I spoke to (Itai); he sounded very happy. He said he got lost, but later met some people who gave him directions to the village," said Magnus.
Before leaving for Brazil, Hilik Magnus, who headed the search team, told Ynet Ben-David left his girlfriend behind at the village Wednesday morning but never returned.
"When he hadn't returned for a few hours she called local rescue services, which have been searching for him since yesterday," Magnus said.
