Yisrael Beiteinu MK: I will reach paradise after passing conversion law
A storm was kicked up in the Knesset Constitution, Law, and Justice Committee over the conversion bill. MK David Rotem (Yisrael Beiteinu), who is spearheading the bill, said during the deliberations: "When I reach the world of truth, after I pass this bill, I will brag about it and will be granted access to paradise. Whoever blocks it – I don't know what he will receive."
In response, MK Moshe Gafni (United Torah Judaism) shouted at him: "You are uncultured and are ruining the nation, and still you call yourselves the Right in Israel." (Ronen Medzini)
