Barak: Indirect talks with Palestinians won't be easy
Defense Minister Ehud Barak commented on indirect peace talks with the Palestinians during the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee session on Monday and said, "I am also of the opinion that direct talks are preferable, but in the reality that has been created, even the 'proximity talks' were hard to obtain."
He added, "I believe it won't be easy, not just because of us. The difficulties that will be created are the result of what is happening around the Arab world, where there are differences in attitudes and emphasis on anything to do with negotiations with Israel." (Amnon Meranda)
