Local planning board: Don't enforce Silwan demolition orders
Jerusalem's local building and planning board recommended that law enforcement officials take Mayor Nir Barkat's plan into consideration and avoid enforcing demolition orders issued for the Silwan neighborhood.
"The board recommends not ignoring the planning developments despite the legal implications stemming from the proffered plan," the board said. The board authorized in principle a plan stipulating that building in the neighborhood be allowed up to four floors. (Ronen Medzini)
