Germany says to take in Iranian political refugees

Germany plans to grant asylum to a number of Iranian refugees due to human rights concerns, a spokeswoman from the Interior Ministry said on Monday.

"The German government is very worried about human rights in the Islamic Republic," the spokeswoman told a regular news conference, adding the move was designed to show solidarity with Iranians being persecuted. (Reuters)
