Minister Shalom asks UN chief to help with Iran sanctions

Vice Premier Silvan Shalom met with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon at the UN headquarters in New York and asked him to help impose efficient sanctions on Iran and put senior regime and Revolutionary Guards officials in the international "black list".

After the meeting, Shalom spoke to reporters and addressed the Interpol announcement that all members of the team which assassinated senior Hamas figure Mahmoud al-Mabhouh are wanted. "Israel has nothing to do with the assassination," he said. "The Dubai police chief wants to be a Hollywood start." (Yitzhak Benhorin, Washington)
