The Knesset plenum approved a law which determines that a parent of a minor not living with him is entitled to receive information about the child from public bodies such as educational institutions, banks and HMOs.
One of the law's sponsors, Yariv Levin (Likud), said the law represents a revolution which makes child welfare the paramount consideration, and protects a child's right to his parents' involvement in his upbringing. MKs Dov Chenin (Hadash) and Orit Zuaretz were also involved in proposing the law. (Amnon Meranda)
