Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has proposed to Stanley Fischer that he stays on another term as governor of the Bank of Israel. His first term in this position will come to a close at the end of April after five years.
His continuation in this role was decided a long time ago in the Prime Minister's Office, and requires only Fischer's agreement. Fischer has made his agreement dependent on the new Bank of Israel law being passed before Pesach. The law is expected to be approved next week. (Zvi Lavi)
