Attorney Yossi Fuchs on Wednesday filed a NIS 12 million (roughly $3.2 million) class action lawsuit against the Tnufa administration (formerly Sela), which assists settlers evacuated from Gaza and northern Samaria.
The lawsuit pertains to interest payments owed to evacuees as part of their compensation plan.
In the class action, Fuchs claims that Administration officials mishandled their responsibilities vis-à-vis the NIS 225,000 (appox. $60,000) payment they received for the property owned by evacuees prior to the disengagement.

According to Fuchs, the problem began when a group of some 20 families signed a relocation agreement to a new town – in accordance with the evacuation-compensation law – and were asked to pay back their compensation payment in return for a plot in the new town.
Fuchs demanded that the payments be returned to the families and accused the Administration of "preferring to 'punish' the evacuees rather than taking responsibility for the prolonged relocation process."
Fuchs added that "the evacuees have been paying the Administration's arrears interest."
Tnufa officials issued the following statement, "We will study the claims and respond accordingly in court."
