Biden wins applause for condemning east Jerusalem construction plan
US President Obama believes in PA President Mahmoud Abbas, and that Israel finally has a Palestinian leader with whom it can come to an agreement, US Vice President Joe Biden said during a speech at Tel Aviv University.
Biden noted that this opportunity should not be missed, yet Israel – instead of taking this chance – decided to approve the building in east Jerusalem, which undermines efforts to renew talks. His condemnation of the construction announcement received enthusiastic applause. (Attila Somfalvi)
