A Stockholm court says a Swedish former neo-Nazi leader can be extradited to Poland, where he is suspected of involvement in the theft
of an infamous sign at Auschwitz.
The court says 34-year-old Anders Hogstrom can be handed over to Poland on condition he will be allowed to serve any prison sentence in Sweden if he's convicted.
Polish investigators suspect Hogstrom of incitement to commit theft of a cultural treasure in connection with the December theft of the "Arbeit Macht Frei" – "Work Sets You Free" – sign at the former Nazi death camp.
Hogstrom's defense lawyer, Bjorn Sandin, says he will probably appeal the court's decision.
