Police Commissioner Dudi Cohen visited the Temple Mount courtyard amid fears of renewed riots at the site on Friday. After assessing the situation, Cohen said, "The police and security forces' vigilance in Jerusalem is in line with the severity of the situation."
Cohen stressed that, "It is important to keep the channels of dialogue open with the various bodies to maintain the calm and allow everyone to uphold their religious customs as they see fit." Some 3,000 police officers are currently dispersed throughout the capital ahead of the conclusion of Friday prayers. (Shmulik Grossman)
