Hamas source: Israel wants renewal of Shalit talks
A Hamas source claims Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has asked Egypt to renew its efforts for the release of kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit.
The source told the Qatari Al-Sharq that the request was conveyed by Netanyahu's national security advisor, Uzi Arad, who visited Cairo on Thursday. The source said Israel was interested in spurring talks on the matter. (Yitzhak Benhorin, Washington)
