Infrastructure Minister Uzi Landau said, "Israel will not transfer water to the Palestinian Authority beyond its minimal commitment if the PA does not treat waste in its territory."
In a conference on Water Day being held in Kfar Maccabiah, Minister Landau added that the Foreign Ministry is also involved in the matter. He said that Israel is demanding that the PA use treated waste water for agricultural purposes. The Infrastructure Ministry noted that the Palestinians are refusing to set up sewage treatment plants despite receiving money for this end. (Yael Darel)
