Abbas meets Brazilian president; calls for settlement freeze

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas reiterated his demand for a full Israeli settlement freeze before the Palestinians return to the negotiation table.
During a joint press conference in Ramallah with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Abbas said, "We have no preconditions, but we call on all sides to live up to their obligations so that we may participate in the talks." (AFP)
