Iran frees activists for Iranian New Year holiday

Iran has temporarily released a prominent pro-reform activist detained for suspected involvement in the country's post-election turmoil.

Mohsen Mirdamadi was released on bail late Wednesday, his son Ali said. He is the leader of Iran's biggest reformist party, the Islamic Iran Participation Front and had been in prison since June 13, the day after Iran's disputed presidential elections. (AP)
