Report: Turkey detains 20 in coup plot probe

A television report says Turkish authorities have detained some 20 people, including some police and military officials, as part of an investigation into an alleged secularist plot to topple the government.

Private NTV television says the suspects were detained Thursday. They were being questioned in connection to a probe into the alleged Ergenekon terror network, which prosecutors say aimed to bring down the Islamic-oriented government. Police refused to comment on the investigation. (AP)
