Yemen: North rebels free all captives

Yemen's northern rebels freed all civilians and government soldiers in their custody as part of a cease-fire agreement and have called on the government to reciprocate, said a spokesman for the rebels on Thursday. Mohammad Abdel Salam said that the Shiite rebels have freed a total of 445 prisoners.
The northern rebels have been fighting Yemen's government sporadically for years, complaining of neglect and sectarian discrimination. (AP)
