Soldier returned after crossing into Jordan

A reserve soldier on Saturday crossed the border to Jordan near the Sheikh Hussein Bridge in the northern Jordan Valley. He was returned to Israel shortly afterwards.
The soldier, who was unarmed, crossed the border in an unmarked area. The incident is being handled by the territorial brigade's command with liaison elements, and is being investigated by Israel Defense Forces official.
Several border incidents have taken place recently, mainly near the Israel-Egypt border. Israeli journalist Yotam Feldman is still jailed in Egypt after trying to infiltrate Israel together with refugees from Ghana.
Two Israeli youths were arrested by Egyptian forces several months ago after cycling near the border. They were released a few hours later.
