Some 45% of criminal convicts in Israel belong to the Arab sector, according to the Prisoner Rehabilitation Authority. The authority is protesting the lack of an inclusive framework for Arab prisoners in the plan submitted by the Minority Affairs Ministry to the cabinet on Sunday.
Dr. Haim Ayalon, director of the Prisoner Rehabilitation Authority, said, "We demand and expect Minister Braverman to dedicate proper treatment of the issue in his plan. Many of the prisoners from the sector do not receive even minimal rehabilitation." (Yael Branovsky)
