The cabinet approved in principle a plan initiated by Deputy Health Minister Yaacov Litzman to relocate the fortified emergency room at Barzila Medical Center in Ashkelon after ancient graves were found on the site.
Eleven minister supported the emergency room's relocation, which will cost NIS 135 million (about $36 million), versus ten ministers who voted against the plan. The cabinet delayed carrying out the relocation by about a month in order to examine other graves before allotting a budget to the project. (Roni Sofer)
