Pakistan seeks permission to investigate nuclear scientist

The Pakistan government has sought court permission to investigate disgraced nuclear scientist Abdul Qadeer Khan on charges of transferring nuclear know-how to Iraq and Iran, a government lawyer said Monday.

This petition comes just days before the opening of strategic talks between the United States and Pakistan, where the south Asian country will likely ask for a civilian nuclear deal similar to the one between India and the United States. (Reuters)
