Noam Shalit, father of captured Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, spoke in Geneva before the UN Commission on Human Rights, the body that appointed the Goldstone Committee. He called upon the UN to demand that Hamas grant his son rights in accordance with the Geneva Convention.
Shalit called upon those who supported the Goldstone Report "to prove his honesty and to insist that Hamas uphold its word and allow Gilad to receive the rights of a prisoner of war. Insist that Hamas release our son. Insist on these things," said Shalit. (Ahiya Raved)
