China said Google Inc had violated a "written promise" and was "totally wrong" to end censorship of its Chinese-language search portal Google.cn, the official Xinhua news agency reported on Tuesday.
The brief Xinhua report, quoting an official from China's State Council Information Office which helps oversee Internet rules, said the official made the comments after Google started redirecting mainland users to a search site for Hong Kong. (Reuters)
