Ynet learned that significant advances have been made in construction on the Shepherd Hotel in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of east Jerusalem, which sparked an intense controversy last summer.
Authorization in principle for the plan, which includes the construction of 20 housing units and a parking lot, was granted by a decision made by Jerusalem municipal zoning committee last July and evoked a harsh response from the US. (Ronen Medzini)
