Inquiry commission prefers importing of water to over-desalination
None
A national inquiry commission appointed to investigate the management of Israel's water system determined after a year and a half of work that importing water is preferable to over-desalination. It found that a delay in establishing necessary desalination facilities caused a severe shortage in water.
The commission accuses Israel's Water Authority for conducting its affairs in a disorderly manner, government ministers for concerning themselves only with their own interests, and the Treasury for delaying necessary processes. (Yael Darel)
