Greek PM welcomes euro zone, ECB support measures

Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou on Thursday welcomed moves by his euro zone partners and the European Central Bank (ECB) to help Greece tackle a debt crisis that has shaken global markets.

"Europe has taken a big step in the face of a big challenge," Papandreou told reporters in Brussels. "The ECB decision helps the efforts we are undertaking." Papandreou said a satisfactory solution had been reached. (Reuters)
